Arsenal installed as bookies’ favourites to sign Leon Goretzka as Bayern Munich contract nears end
Arsenal are the current bookmakers’ favourites to be the next club of Bayern Munich and Germany star Leon Goretzka.
Goretzka has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal as he nears the end of his contract with Bayern Munich.
One of the UK’s leading bookies has priced the Gunners as the favourites to be the club he is contracted to at the end of the next transfer window, at odds of 6/4.
He has also been linked with a move to Man United as they prepare to replace the outgoing Casemiro, but they are priced as the fifth-most likely club for him to ply his trade with next at 8/1 odds.
Arsenal’s summer transfer plans are on the back burner as it stands while they chase a coveted Premier League crown, but a holding midfield addition is set to be on the agenda for Mikel Arteta.

VISIT THE ARSENAL TRANSFER HUBWhat has Leon Goretzka said about his Bayern future?
Goretzka has made 299 appearances for Bayern since he joined the club from Schalke in 2018.
He has continued to be a key player this season, despite injury concerns, with three goals and one assist in 38 appearances from central midfield so far.
Speaking in January about his future in Bavaria, he said: “The situation for now is that my contract is expiring. We’ll see what happens next.
“I’m completely relaxed about it. I’m in the prime of my career age-wise and I feel in top shape. Accordingly, I’m completely relaxed.”
Arsenal are believed to want to sign a stronger backup to Declan Rice in the summer as Christian Norgaard struggles to make an impact following his move from Brentford last year.
Joining United may appeal more to Goretzka, however, as they could give a better guarantee of game time with Casemiro set to leave at the end of this campaign.
Which other clubs are in the mix to sign Goretzka?
There have been several top European clubs linked to the Germany international ahead of the summer, but he is still 3/1 odds with a top UK bookmaker to remain at Bayern and sign a new contract.
Inter Milan are priced as the second favourites behind Arsenal to be his next club if he leaves the German giants, at odds of 3/1.
Their rivals, AC Milan, are 5/1 to be Goretzka’s next club, while Chelsea and PSG come in behind Man United in the running at odds of 10/1 respectively.
