Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to answer the wage demands of star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil amid on-going contract speculation.

The Arsenal legend claimed the duo are the club’s “best players” and it’s crucial their contract demands are met otherwise the Gunners will have even less chance of winning trophies.

Speaking to Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show, Parlour urged his former club to sign the attacking duo and claimed the board have a huge decision to make.

“Ozil and Sanchez are big factors in Arsenal going forward – you need to keep your best players. Arsenal have got more of a chance of winning something with Sanchez and Ozil in the team than without them,” said Parlour, as quoted by TalkSPORT.

“I think the biggest question at Arsenal at the moment is Sanchez. You’ve got to keep your best players and also add to that, and the big decision the board have got to make is whether they break the bank for him.”

On Monday, Ozil claimed he would like to extend his stay but he is waiting to hear about the future of Arsene Wenger, who is expected to leave in the summer on termination of his contract.

Sanchez is yet to comment on his future but the duo are believed to be demanding a huge increase in their wages and they are currently in a stand-off with the club.

So far this season, Sanchez has netted 15 goals and 10 assists in 26 appearances in all competitions and is currently the second highest goal-scorer in the Premier League.

Ozil has been equally as impressive and he has picked up three assists and five goals in his opening 17 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.

Both of their current contracts run out in the summer of 2018.
