Bayern Munich look set to snatch Liverpool target Leon Goretzka, and are expecting a decision to be made by the soon to be out of contract German within 48 hours, according to a report.
The Daily Mail report that although nothing is set in stone, the German giants expect Goretzka to make a decision regarding his future in as little as two days.
The German midfielder is out of contract out Schalke, so will be available to join his new club by means of a free transfer come the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has consistently been linked with a move to England, with Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly keeping tabs on him.
Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “You only have an agreement, when the contract is signed and the player passed the medical tests. We are not that far yet.

“Now the player has to decide, I heard the decision will be made within the next days, so before the end of January.

“And of course it would be very nice, if he decides to join Bayern Munich.”

Football Insider verdict:
Leon Goretzka on a free transfer seems too good to be true. The young midfielder is a rare talent, and has already began his international career aged only 22. Goretzka has six goals for Germany already, as well as finding the net six times for Schalke this season. It is no surprise he is heavily linked with a move to a big club – but it seems his next destination will not be England. The German would have served as a good replacement for both Alexis Sanchez or Philippe Coutinho should he have moved to either club.
