Arsenal may have next Grealish in their ranks after confirmed transfer news – Agbonlahor
Martin Odegaard needs to add goals to his game to justify his price tag for Arsenal, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Odegaard could have a similar trajectory to Jack Grealish and go from a “silky” player to one that scores regularly.
The Norway captain signed for the Gunners permanently from Real Madrid on 20 August.
ESPN reported they have paid Real Madrid a €40million fee (£34million) for the midfielder.
Asked for his assessment of the transfer, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s expensive when you think he wasn’t going to play at Real Madrid.
“It’s like having a player who you know wasn’t going to pay and demanding that fee.
“If he was going to play at Real Madrid then, yes, £30million is a steal. But because Real Madrid were just going to leave him there to rot, Arsenal paid £10million too much for a player that was never going to feature.
“Real Madrid would have probably taken less towards the end of the transfer window. But, Arsenal needed him now, they need a number 10 now so they paid a little bit extra.

“I like him as a player he just needs to score more goals. It’s ok looking silky on the ball like Dani Cabellos or Said Benrahma but you need to score more goals.
“It’s something Jack Grealish sorted out over the past couple of years, he went from a silky looking player with stats, goals and assists. That’s what he needs to do. He could be the next Grealish.”
In other news, Arsenal are “very lucky” as £40million commercial deal is agreed.
