Arsenal player ratings v Hull: Attacker is 5/10
By Dominic Toner
Football Insider rates the Arsenal players after their 2-0 victory against Hull in the Premier League on Saturday.
Petr Cech 6 – The goalkeeper enjoyed a quiet game for the most-part, but made a couple of smart saves to preserve the valuable clean sheet.
Hector Bellerin 6 – He was mainly focused on attacking the Hull defence and wasted a great opportunity in the first-half, blasting his shot from inside the penalty area wide of the post.
Shkodran Mustafi 6 – He dealt well with the lively Oumar Niasse and looks to have a bright future at the Emirates.
Laurent Koscielny 7 – The centre-back made several strong blocks inside his penalty area to stop the Hull attacks.
Kieran Gibbs 6 – The left-back came into the side for Nacho Monreal and offered a greater attacking threat. However, he should have been shown a red card for a last man challenge on Lazar Markovic.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 8 – Looked much improved in the centre of midfield and showcased his great range of passing.
Francis Coquelin 6 – The combative midfielder was solid in the middle of the park, but could be under pressure from the returning Mohamed Elneny for a starting position.
Theo Walcott 5 – The attacker struggled to get into the game or threaten the Hull goalkeeper. He had one effort block in the first-half, but a part from that was quiet.
Mesut Ozil 6 – The playmaker showed glimpse of his qualities with some nice touches, but was unable to grab the game.
Alex Iwobi 6 – The winger worked hard and linked up well with Sanchez at times, but just lacking end product on the day.
Alexis Sanchez 8 – Opened the scoring with a fortunate goal which appeared to strike his arm and deflect into the net. He was the hardest working Arsenal player, though, and offered both attacking and defensive contributions. Netted a late penalty in stoppage time to secure the points.
Mohamed Elneny (for Walcott 69mins) 6
Lucas Perez (for Oxlade-Chamberlain 82mina) 6
Danny Welbeck (for Iwobi 82mins) 6
