Arsenal player ratings vs AFC Bournemouth – Gabriel Martinelli dreadful, Ben White impresses
Arsenal‘s title hopes took a blow on Saturday as they lost 2-1 against AFC Bournemouth at the Emirates.
It was the worst possible start for the Gunners as Junior Kroupi bundled the ball into the net early on.
However, Arsenal would level just before the break as Michael Oliver gave a penalty for handball, and the spot-kick was slammed into the net by Viktor Gyokeres.
Into the second period, Mikel Arteta’s side simply could not find a way to break Bournemouth down.
Eventually, Alex Scott would find the winner for the visitors in what was an awful afternoon for Arsenal.

Given the nod to start on the right wing, Gabriel Martinelli did little to nothing throughout his time on the pitch.
With Arsenal desperate for move attacking quality, the Brazilian international was simply incapable of providing this.
| Gabriel Martinelli’s stats vs Bournemouth | |
| Minutes | 54 |
| Touches | 8 |
| Passes completed | 3 |
| Chances created | 1 |
| Crosses completed | 0% |
Before he was taken off 10 minutes into the second half, he managed just eight touches.
When he was only the ball, he also did little. Completing just three out of an attempted five passes and creating one chance.
Therefore, it was no surprise when he was taken off, in what was an awful display from the winger in a must-win game.
Ben White one of Arsenal’s standouts vs Bournemouth
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Everton are interested in Ben White ahead of the summer transfer window. However, based on his recent display, Arsenal may consider not selling him.
The full-back was one of few players who actually performed for the hosts, as he provided a solid attacking threat down the right.

White barely misplaced a pass and was defensively excellent until he was brought off with 15 minutes to go.
Coming away from the match, the England international can hold his head high for his performance, despite the terrible defeat inflicted on Arsenal.
