Arsenal respond to last-gasp £30m Leandro Trossard bid
Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta have no intention of losing winger Leandro Trossard in an out-of-window deal, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have come forward with a last-gasp bid of around £30million for the 29-year-old on the final day of their transfer window.
Sources say Trossard is seen as a key player at Arsenal despite the deadline-day arrival of Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
Arteta is against losing the Belgium international without securing a replacement as the English window is now closed until January.
It is believed the Gunners boss wants a few options in every position as Arsenal attempt to challenge in the Premier League and new-look Champions League.
Trossard made a rare start against former club Brighton on Saturday (31 August) as the two clubs played out a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal turn down late Trossard approach from Saudi Arabia
He is already off the mark for the season after netting his first goal in the 2-0 victory against Aston Villa on 24 August.
The winger has appeared in all three Premier League games and has been regularly deployed as an impact player from the substitutes’ bench during his time at Arsenal.
Trossard has now made 71 appearances for the Gunners, notching 19 goals and 12 assists.

He contributed 19 goals and assists in 46 appearances across all competitions last term despite starting in only 25 of those outings.
The ex-Brighton star is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until June 2026.
