Arsenal set for ‘bumper’ cash boost after ‘amazing situation’ occurs
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke will be looking on delighted as the club look set to increase their level of revenue this season.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, as Arsenal could still win all four major trophies this season.
Arsenal earned £102million from their run to the Champions League semi-finals last season, and Mikel Arteta’s side are one of the favourites for this year’s competition after topping the league phase table.
The Gunners have booked their place in the Carabao Cup final, and sit at the top of the Premier League table, and are in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Arsenal ‘need money’ for upcoming project
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes greater revenue would help Arsenal complete their redevelopment of Emirates Stadium.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks the club could surpass last season’s revenue.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yeah, look, I think they are. You know, that was an amazing situation to be in top of the league phase. It gives them that extra, you know, time off away from the playoffs in the Champions League.
“But it’s not only the Champions League. I mean, they’re still in all the trophies at the moment. So they could be looking for a bumper revenue year. And yes, I do think they’ve got a chance of getting, repeating that sort of revenue situation this year and surpassing it. So all to play for.
“Again, they’ve had a couple of little wobbles, but that’s okay. I think they’ve got time to regroup and go forward now. And as I say, they’re still in all the major trophies, so let’s just see. But I think, yes, I think Arsenal can handle that sort of loss.
“They’re going to need some money for the Emirates redevelopment project. It’ll be coming up fairly soon. So they’re going to need those revenues, but it looks like they’re going to be able to get them. And I think [Stan] Kroenke will be happy with the way that things are progressing.”

Arsenal set for crunch Man City clashes
Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title were handed a blow when Arteta’s side let a two goal lead slip at Wolves.
Manchester City now know that a perfect record between now and the end of the season will mean the Premier League title heads to the Etihad for a fifth time in six seasons.
The meeting between the two teams at the Etihad in April has now gained greater significance, with the sides also coming up against eachother in the Carabao Cup final in March.
