
Report: Liverpool to fight for France assist master, talks could take place in January

Arsenal and Liverpool are battling for the signing of Rennes winger Paul-Georges Ntep, according to a report.
Italian transfer site Transfer Market Web claim Arsenal are ready join a number of Premier League clubs who have already shown interest in the winger led by Liverpool.
The 24 year-old’s current deal with the French outfits expires at the end of the season and a number of English clubs are believed to be preparing to enter talks in January.
The Transfer Market Web report states that Rennes are keen to set a deal in January in the hope of receiving a small fee for Ntep, who is also being tracked by Lazio, Southampton and Watford.
The Cameroonian-born Frenchman has made nine appearances in Ligue 1 this season and although he’s failed to get on the scoresheet so far, he’s already notched up an impressive four assists.
The young winger is currently rated at just over £8million after joining Rennes in January 2014 for £4.25 million.
He made his debut for France last summer in a friendly 4-3 defeat against Belgium and got an assist in a brief 10-minute substitute appearances.
Ntep came through the international youth ranks, playing at every level from the under-18s upwards. He was particularly impressive for the under-21s, notching up nine goals in 15 appearances.
