Arsenal star Thomas Partey close to agreeing ‘huge’ deal – sources
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is closing in on a summer move to Saudi Arabia, sources have told Football Insider.
The Ghana international’s representatives are in talks over what would be a “huge” contract to take him to the Middle Eastern country.
Football Insider first revealed in April that Arsenal were willing to listen to offers for the 31-year-old this summer ahead of his contract expiring in June 2025.
The north London giants would look to use the money generated from his anticipated departure to buy a younger central midfielder.
Partey is now expected to leave Arsenal by the end of the transfer window.
Martin Zubimendi could replace Thomas Partey at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta is looking to freshen up his squad this summer to mount a challenge for the Premier League title again next season.
Partey is expected to be one of the players heading out the Emirates despite being a regular starter since making his £45million move from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
But the midfielder spent long spells on the sidelines last season after picking up a hamstring injury, which restricted him to just 16 appearances across the campaign.
Arsenal are believed to have set an asking price of between £20million and £25million for the Ghanaian’s services as a move to the Saudi Pro League now looks to be on the cards.
Football Insider revealed on 3 June that Emirates chiefs are weighing up a deal to sign Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi as Partey’s replacement.

The 25-year-old started in 41 of his 45 appearances last season as he helped his side secure a sixth-place finish in La Liga.
The midfielder will have a chance to impress at the European Championships this summer after being named in Spain’s 26-man squad for the tournament.
