Medical insider reveals ‘truth’ about Oleksandr Zinchenko injury as Arsenal images emerge
It is not a major concern that Oleksandr Zinchenko has been spotted wearing protective taping on his knee – and he should be available for selection for Arsenal again very soon.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
Zinchenko, 25, has impressed for the Gunners since his arrival from Man City for £32million earlier this summer.
The Ukrainian midfielder was not, however, part of the matchday squad that came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 on Saturday (27 August).
But he watched on from the sidelines and as relayed by Dr Rajpal Brar on Twitter after the match, Zinchenko was spied wearing a protective sleeve on his left knee.
Dinnery is not concerned and predicts that the new Arsenal favourite will return to the first XI soon.
“The truth is it doesn’t tell us a great deal, but it does illustrate that the injury itself isn’t too serious,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“It’s a fairly minor issue. It was more of a complaint post-training on Friday. He was kept out of the squad more as a precautionary measure.

“He seems to be moving fairly freely and he shouldn’t be too far away.
“Certainly, if he does miss out against Aston Villa, you are probably looking at the next fixture. Zinchenko should be in and around the squad by then.”
