Gabriel Martinelli has had a tough season and with Arsenal in the market for a new winger, questions are being asked about his future at the Emirates.

Arsenal are expected to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer, which could push one of their current wide options out of the squad.

Martinelli has endured a frustrating campaign, struggling for form and consistency – his display against PSG only highlighted his ongoing dip in performance.

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson previously told Football Insider that Newcastle could be a surprise destination for Martinelli should Arsenal decide to move him on in the upcoming window.

Now, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England goalkeeper has urged the Gunners to consider selling Martinelli if they secure a new forward ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Gabriel Martinelli future in doubt as Arsenal fans show frustration

Martinelli has come under fire from sections of the Arsenal fanbase this season, with many questioning whether the club should cash in on the winger due to his underwhelming performances.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson claimed it’s a “no-brainer” for the Gunners to consider selling the Brazilian, provided the right offer comes in.

However, he stressed that any sale must be dependent on Arsenal securing a superior replacement.

When asked about Martinelli’s future, Robinson told Football Insider: “He’s not really been at the levels that you’d want him to.

“Is he of the level that you need, week in and week out? I would argue not. If you can get a price for him and you can bring better in, that’s a no-brainer, isn’t it?

“If you get a good price for a player who isn’t necessarily hitting the level you require every week, you trade them and bring better in.

“But you only let them go if you can bring better into the squad.”

Arsenal open talks with Kingsley Coman amid new winger push

With Martinelli’s future uncertain and a new winger high on the agenda, the Gunners appear to have already taken steps to strengthen their wide options.

Football Insider revealed on 23 April that Arsenal have held talks with the representatives of Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman to explore the possibility of a summer move.

It follows Football Insider exclusively revealed that Arsenal are currently leading the race to sign Coman ahead of London rivals Tottenham.

The forward line is an area Arsenal have struggled with due to injuries and underwhelming performances throughout the season, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Martinelli and Leandro Trossard all showing poor form.

Meanwhile, the Frenchman has fallen out of favour under Vincent Kompany, and his arrival would add much-needed depth in attack as Mikel Arteta aims to freshen up his attacking options.
