Arsenal tipped to agree cut-price Gabriel Jesus deal after journalist’s £55m update – expert

Arsenal could sign Gabriel Jesus for less than his £55million price tag this summer, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 25-year-old’s contract situation will drive his price down.

Jesus has just over one year remaining on his contract at the Etihad.

According to ESPN‘s James Olley (19 May), the Gunners are weighing up their options after being told Jesus will cost £55million this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side are in desperate need of striking reinforcements with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah at the end of their contracts.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if £55million was a fair valuation of Jesus, Campbell said: “Manchester City can put whatever price on him they want.

“He is their player. That does not mean he is going to go for that though. I’m sure they are aiming high.

“But £55million for a player with 12 months left on his contract… We will see. There will no doubt be a negotiation.

“I’m not surprised that Gabriel Jesus is coveted. He is a really good player. He has just won another league title so he knows what it takes.

“I think £55million is a bit steep with one year left. We will see.”

Jesus helped Pep Guardiola’s side win a second consecutive Premier League title on Sunday.

The forward has contributed 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions this season.

In other news, an expert has claimed Eddie Nketiah and two other players are expected to exit Arsenal after talks reveal.
