Arsenal tipped to 'definitely spend over £200m' as Edu's January wish list emerges - pundit
Arsenal will see their spending for the season rocket past £200million if Edu gets his wish in January.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ plans for the mid-season window.
Football.london reported on 28 September that technical director Edu is eyeing three new additions in January.
A new midfielder and defender as well as a back-up goalkeeper are understood to be high on the agenda for the Londoners.
Arsenal had the highest spend and net spend in the Premier League over the summer after they recruited £150m worth of new talent.
And Kenny predicted that the transfer team at the Emirates may look to add a centre-forward to Mikel Arteta’s squad in January.

“The spend will definitely go over £200m if they are after three big players,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“They will be looking in every area they can to strengthen that squad. If they are looking at three big signings, it will cost a lot of money.
“No one is cheap these days, every transfer seems to be worth £50m at the moment.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if they signed a striker, but I’m sure there will be other areas they want to make additions too.”
The Gunners’ 3-1 humbling of Tottenham last weekend made it four wins on the bounce in all competitions.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently 10th in the Premier League after six matches.
