Arsenal to accept last-gasp Reiss Nelson offer as West Ham latest revealed
Arsenal will not stand in the way of a last-gasp exit for winger Reiss Nelson, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old’s Gunners future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer window after his recent lack of involvement at the club.
However, Nelson did come off the bench to see out Arsenal’s 2-0 victory against Aston Villa on Saturday (24 August).
Mikel Arteta still sees the winger as key to his plans and is planning to give him first-team minutes this season, but is also preparing for his departure in search of more regular first-team action.
Leicester City, Crystal Palace and West Ham had been keen on the former England Under-21 international earlier in the summer window but were put off by Arsenal’s price tag.
Arsenal exit for Nelson still possible this week
Eddie Nketiah has also faced similar challenges in his bid to secure a permanent move away from the Emirates Stadium, with Marseille and Nottingham Forest pulling out of deals for the striker.
Nelson joined Arsenal as a nine-year-old before progressing through the ranks and into the first team but has struggled for game time since making the grade at senior level.

He started just once in the Premier League in the 2023-24 campaign and failed to register any goal contributions in his 15 league appearances.
The winger, who is under contract until June 2027, has also had loans at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim since his senior breakthrough.
