Arsenal ‘to ask Marcus Rashford question of Man United’ after major update

Arsenal now have to ask a big-money question of Man United over Marcus Rashford after a huge double-blow at the Emirates.

The 27-year-old is facing growing questions about his future at Man United after being left out of their last three matchday squads, and admitting he may be ready for a “new challenge” (via Henry Winter).

Certainly things do not look right for the attacker at Old Trafford, with the appointment of Ruben Amorim only highlighting that further given his ongoing absence from the side.

There have even been suggestions that Man United could cover some of his £300,000 per-week wages for a January loan exit.

Now, amid growing clamour for Rashford to head to North London and major bad news for the Arsenal title push, it seems almost certain that the Gunners will have to put the question to United decision makers and see if a financial compromise can be reached.

Arsenal need to make Marcus Rashford enquiry to Man United after injury blow

There have been claims from certain pundits that the Gunners should be looking to do a deal with Man United that could see both pay part of Rashford’s wage to allow him to move to North London on loan.

Mikel Arteta’s interest in reaching such an agreement with those at Old Trafford may now be more important than ever after the latest injury news from the Emirates.

It has now been confirmed that Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling will be out for an extended period for Arsenal, with Bukayo Saka also out for several weeks with injury.

That is a major blow for the Gunners’ title hopes, losing arguably their best player in Saka, as well as another wide option in the form of Sterling.

If they are to keep pace with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the Premier League title race they will surely need reinforcements out wide to cope with the absence of those two.

While things have not been working out for Rashford in recent months, he has shown in the past that he has the quality to be among the best in the Premier League.

Emirates revival on the cards for Old Trafford outcast?

A change in scenery after stagnation at Man United could bring the best out of him, and make him a major asset to offer Arsenal an asset on the wings in the absence of Saka and Sterling.

That could keep them in contention at the top of the table, and given Ruben Amorim’s side are not in the running for the title, they should have few concerns about sanctioning such a move in that respect.

With all that in mind, if Arsenal do not at least ask the question of Man United covering some of Rashford’s wages for a January loan move as they have been advised to, they are surely missing an opportunity in the circumstances.
