‘Arsenal want double-sale before incoming transfer is done’
Arsenal are planning to sell two first-team stars before they can make a new signing to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer.
The Gunners fell short in the Premier League again last season, with Arne Slot’s Liverpool beating them to the title by 10 points after a stellar campaign.
They will go again next term looking for a maiden title under the Spanish boss, and first since 2004, with former Aston Villa chief Keith Wyness recently telling Football Insider that the Arteta is plotting a move to sign Villans talent Morgan Rogers this summer.
Arteta is yet to make any moves in the transfer window so far, with it set to reopen on 16 June, and the Gunners have already missed out on a deal for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, who is now set to join Galatasaray.
Supporters of the North London outfit are likely to get restless with their lack of activity before long, especially with title rivals Liverpool set to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz in one of the biggest transfers in English football history.

Arsenal to sell Zinchenko and Kiwior before new centre-back
The Gunners are yet to sign anyone this summer, but they have officially sold some of their first-team players, with Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos both having left to join Lazio and Cruzeiro on permanent deals after respective loan spells.
The Times have now claimed that more high-profile sales will be sanctioned in the coming months before Arsenal can delve into the market for an incoming, with Arteta wanting to offload Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior before buying a centre back this summer.
They continue to report that Ukraine international Zinchenko has attracted interest from AC Milan, but his hefty £150,000 weekly wages are set to be a “problem” for the Italian giants, while Kiwior is also a target for the San Siro side according to The Mirror.

Arteta should prioritise striker situation over signing a centre-back
Football Insider verdict
Arsenal’s woes last season were mainly down to their lack of firepower in attack, with their 34 goals conceded seeing them end the campaign with the best defensive record in the Premier League.
Gabriel Magalhaes recently signed a new contract to tie his future at the club down until 2029, while former scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that the Gunners are preparing to offer William Saliba a huge new deal amid interest from Real Madrid.
It is pretty clear that Arteta has more pressing concerns, then, after playing the majority of last season with midfielder Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker following injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Kai Havertz | 36 | 15 | 5 |
Gabriel Jesus | 27 | 7 | 2 |
Neither Havertz nor Jesus proved that they were the definite answer to their striker troubles when they were fit to play, and so Arsenal need to sign a prolific number nine ahead of 2025/26 if they want to compete properly to win a title.
RB Leipzig hotshot Benjamin Sesko has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, and bringing a player like him in should be the club’s main priority this summer, rather than their defensive situation.
