‘Arsenal will agree Real Madrid fee as Lewis-Skelly talks ramp up’
Myles Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a stunning breakthrough at Arsenal in the 2024-25 campaign and is already attracting reported interest from Real Madrid.
According to The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast (26 May), Lewis-Skelly is a target for Real Madrid – who have recently completed deals for English duo Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Arsenal are vulnerable to losing the 18-year-old with his contract at the Emirates Stadium reportedly only running until June 2026.
Lewis-Skelly made 39 appearances across all competitions for Mikel Arteta‘s side in the 2024-25 campaign having previously not played a single minute for the first team.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has claimed Arsenal will have to “compromise” if they are to keep him at the club.

Arsenal could agree Lewis-Skelly release clause, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness suggested Arsenal will have to include a release clause “achievable for Real Madrid” if Lewis-Skelly is to renew.
The 18-year-old superstar full-back is already a two-time England international and scored the first goal of Thomas Tuchel’s reign with the opener against Albania in March.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think to do it, though, they’ll have to give Lewis-Skelly a release clause.
“It will have to be achievable for Real Madrid.
“Arsenal will have to come to some sort of compromise here.
“If he were not to sign a new contract, that would be much more damaging than signing one with a release clause.
“Arsenal will do everything they can.”

‘Arsenal given free run at Nottingham Forest star Gibbs-White‘
Meanwhile, Arsenal could be set for an unchallenged pursuit of Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White this summer after the latest news in the transfer window.
It has been reported that Man City are unlikely to swoop for Gibbs-White as they finalise a deal for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
Both City and Arsenal are long-term admirers of the England international, who led Forest to European qualification in the 2024-25 campaign.
