Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes hit by new blow after Jurrien Timber twist
Mikel Arteta will be sweating over the latest addition to Arsenal‘s injury list after a 2-0 win over Everton.
The Gunners were already without Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino for the clash on Saturday, 14 March, with another name possibly joining them on the treatment table.
Timber lasted just 38 minutes before being replaced by Cristhian Mosquera, having felt something in the early stages, forcing Arteta into an early change at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have suffered multiple injuries this season, none of which have yet delivered a blow to their Premier League title hopes, but this could be a tough blow for the end-of-season run-in.

VISIT THE ARSENAL INJURY HUBJurrien Timber is a vital piece of Arsenal’s lineup
Arteta has dealt with long-term injuries all season, and despite that, the Gunners still lead Man City in the race for the Premier League title. There is plenty of time for that to change, though.
The side from North London remain nine points ahead of the Citizens, though Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand, and the two sides still need to face each other at the Etihad Stadium.
Timber has been instrumental in defence, but more than that, the attacking full-back has four goals and six assists in all competitions, contributing more than some forwards in the final third.

While Ben White has returned from injury recently, he is nowhere near the same level as the Dutchman. Giving teams a weakness at right-back could offer an avenue for the Gunners to be hurt in the remaining games.
When will Arsenal’s other injuries return?
The Gunners’ injury issues are certainly not as bad as they have been, but with the Citizens trying to close the gap at the top of the table, Arteta needs all of his stars available for the remaining games.
Odegaard is expected to return from the sidelines for the Carabao Cup clash against Man City, and Trossard could also be available at the same time after going off against Mansfield Town.
Merino, however, is unlikely to be seen again before the 2025-26 season ends, which is, of course, a huge blow in the middle of the park, with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi playing almost every minute.
Arteta will want to avoid overworking his players, given that his team are still fighting in several competitions, but he might have no other choice when looking at the quality of the opponents.
