Celtic must demand colossus sum to sell key asset with reported swoop lined up
As another club is linked with Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, the Hoops should make it clear that they won’t sell their key asset unless they receive a colossal sum of money.
The Daily Express are reporting that La Liga side Villarreal, who are flush with cash after selling Cedric Bakambu to Chinese side Beijing Guoan in January for £35million, are preparing a £15million for the 21-year-old.
That amount is nowhere near enough what the Hoops will be looking for for a player of Dembele’s quality, in fact the Hoops would be looking for around the amount that Bakambu was sold for.
That might seem unrealistic, but when you consider what players who play in the English Premier League who aren’t as good as Dembele are sold for it isn’t that much of a stretch.
Dembele has scored in the Champions League group stages against two of the best teams in Europe – Manchester City, and PSG. That alone should be enough to tell you that the Hoops will be looking for a big money for the main striker at the club.

The Bhoys have already turned down a bid from Brighton of £12million in January, as reported by the Scottish Sun, and that tells you that if Dembele is sold the Hoops board and Brendan Rodgers won’t be messed around and are holding out for big money.
Of course, it would be better for all involved if the player stayed in Glasgow for another year, but if that doesn’t happen, the Bhoys should be looking to get as much money as they can for Dembele, no more short changing just because he’s played in Scotland.
