‘Ashley Cole is back at Chelsea’ – fans react as clip re-analysed

Chelsea fans have urged the club to offer Marc Cucurella a new contract as the left-back continues to impress the Stamford Bridge faithful.

A clip from Chelsea’s 3-0 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday (1 December) was re-analysed by fans with his work rate being praised for the role he played in their opening goal.

The 26-year-old won the ball from Jaden Philogene-Bidace and then went on to help deliver the ball as Nicolas Jackson opened the scoring, which led to fans praising the Spain international.

Cucurella was 96 percent accurate with his 111 passes throughout the game while he went on to win 75 percent of his tackles and made six recoveries as the Blues kept a clean sheet and secured another three points.

Cucurella has played in all but one of Chelsea’s 13 Premier League matches, with Enzo Maresca making him the first-choice left-back over Ben Chilwell this season.

Supporters have been impressed by his performances throughout the 2024-25 campaign, and now want to see his deal extended beyond its current 2028 expiration.

Chelsea supporters want Marc Cucurella to be rewarded

Chelsea fans have claimed that Cucurella is “worth all the money” the club paid for him, while others have stated they “love the hunger” he is showing.
