Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers sends message to Jhon Duran after stunning twist

Aston Villa star Jhon Duran took to social media to send a message to former teammate Jhon Duran after his latest exploits in Saudi Arabia.

Duran, 21, made the shock decision to leave Aston Villa and join Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr in a blockbuster £71million deal in the January transfer window.

The striker left Villa having scored a goal every 101.08 minutes in the Premier League, giving him a better goal-per-minute ratio than the likes of Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

Duran has continued that impressive form in Saudi Arabia, scoring four goals in his three appearances for Al-Nassr, that’s one more than Cristiano Ronaldo in the same number of games.

Many Villa fans criticised Duran for leaving the club, suggesting that the Colombia international ‘wasn’t serious about football.’

Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Villa are pushing the limits of PSR after their busy January window, and will likely have to sell players in the summer.

Jhon Duran continues to impress former Aston Villa teammate Morgan Rogers

Rogers has established himself as an undisputed key player for Unai Emery, starting all 33 of his games across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, and providing six assists in his 2779 minutes of action.

The Villa star took to Instagram to send a message to Jhon Duran after his impressive solo goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-2 win over Ivan Toney’s Al-Ahli, simply saying: “Crackkkkk.”

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Keith Wyness claimed Duran’s “temperament” issues were a big driving force behind the sale.

Emery’s side continue to push towards the Champions League qualification spots, sitting in eighth with 37 points, six behind Chelsea in fourth.
