Aston Villa are ‘transfer assassins’ as new Moussa Diaby details emerge – Agbonlahor

Moussa Diaby would be a signing that emphasises the Aston Villa transfer dominance after qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Moussa Diaby should be the next signing for the Villains amid reported interest in the winger from the Premier League side.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Friday (14 July) that  Aston Villa have had a bid rejected for Bayer Leverkusen winger Diaby.

The Premier League side are not the only team in for the player as several other clubs have bid, meaning it will not be a straightforward race.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Villa’s initial bid for Diaby was rejected at £35million, but are expected to come in with a new offer as negotiations continue.

With a potential deal on the cards, Agonlahor believes that Diaby is an ideal signing for the Villians, as there is a lack of depth in the wide areas.

“Villa hasn’t gone enough wingers,” He told Football Insider.

“Leon Bailey is the only option, which was why Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn were playing off the wing.

“Playing in Europe now you are going to need different options, and I’m sure Unai Emery would love another winger, so you have Bailey on one wing, with another signing on the other side.

“There will be a lot of competition, but Villa are silent assassins at the moment and they will sign a lot of players.”
