Aston Villa confirmed line-up v Derby: Bruce makes four changes

By Dominic Toner

Aston Villa have made four changes to their starting XI for the game against Derby in the Championship.

Villa host their Midlands rivals on Saturday afternoon in the league and will be looking to end their poor run of form.

They have lost their last five consecutive games and are 17th-placed in the league table, just six points above the relegation places.

Steve Bruce has decided to make four alterations to his side from the team that lost 2-0 to Newcastle on Monday.

Nathan Baker, Albert Adomah, Leandro Bacuna and Andre Green have come into the startling-up.

That means Tommy Elphick, Birkir Bjarnason, Conor Hourihane and Scott Hogan drop out.

Villa have announced their starting line-up on their official Twitter account.

Villa are in serious danger of being dragged into a relegation battle and will be desperate to climb up the table.

The Midlands giants were expected to compete for promotion following their relegation from the Premier League, but have endured a difficult season.

Meanwhile, Derby are 11th-placed in the league table and look set for another mediocre year.

Steve McClaren’s side are 10 points adrift of the play-off places and are unlikely to catch the top six.
