Aston Villa could land extra £3m+ as Europa League prize money revealed

Aston Villa will land more than £3million in prize money if they secure their place in the Europa League semi-finals.

The Premier League side have enjoyed a strong European campaign after finishing second in the competition’s league phase.

Villa then went on to beat Lille 3-0 on aggregate in the last 16 to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Unai Emery’s side are now gearing up to face Bologna in the final eight of the Europa League, with the first leg taking place in Italy on Thursday (9 April).

Villa have already benefited financially from the competition this season, but progression through to the semi-finals would bank them a further £3.7m in prize money.

Why Aston Villa are set for £200m windfall

Villa are on course to qualify for the Champions League following their performances on the pitch in recent months.

Emery’s side sit fourth in the Premier League table, while winning the Europa League would also earn them a place in European football’s elite club competition for next season.

Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Villa could earn £200m in broadcast revenue following their impressive campaign, helping boost their overall turnover.

The West Midlands giants’ revenue increased dramatically from £276m in 2023-24 to £378m last season after reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
