Aston Villa ‘could sell Jhon Duran for £100m and sign Victor Osimhen’
Aston Villa’s former chief Keith Wyness has suggested the club could consider selling Jhon Duran and signing a “tried and tested” striker like Victor Osimhen.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 67-year-old – who served as CEO at Villa Park between 2016 and 2018 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed there are “questions” about the 21-year-old Villa star’s “temperament”.
Wyness has previously told Football Insider that Duran will only leave Aston Villa for a fee of “£100million”.
West Ham and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs to be widely linked with a move for the Colombia international.
He has scored 12 goals in 27 appearances this term despite only starting in seven of those outings.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is on loan with Galatasaray and is expected to be available in the summer window after forcing his way out of Napoli.
Aston Villa could swap Duran for ‘tried and tested’ Osimhen, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Duran is not tried and tested.
“If there was a £100million offer, you could take that money and get some other options.
“We’ve seen young players come and go before in a blaze of glory.
“There are questions about Duran and his temperament. If he’s going to go, I think it will be around the end of next season.
“Would Villa consider taking the money and going out and getting Victor Osimhen?

“That’s the kind of deal they’ve got to think about. He’s a more tried and tested option.
“Monchi is the master of these kinds of things, and he’ll know – and I back his advice.”
