Aston Villa could sell Martinez for £68m after 'unbelievable' update - pundit
Aston Villa could sell Emiliano Martinez for four times the £17million they paid for him last September.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Villa stopper’s career ambitions.
“I want to be the best of all and I know that I can achieve it,” he told Argentinian outlet Infobae on 29 September.
The 29-year-old has been a revelation since his move from Arsenal last summer.
And Kenny claims that a buying team would have to pay through the nose if Martinez is to fulfil his career ambitions away from Villa Park.
“He has been absolutely unbelievable since he signed,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“He could easily be worth three or four times what they paid for him now, if someone was to come in for him.
“Him saying he wants to be the best, I love that attitude. As long as you’re not arrogant with it, I don’t mind that at all.
“Look at all the best players, they talk about wanting to be the best all the time.
“But that’s been an absolute bargain, £17m. He has been sensational at Aston Villa since he left Arsenal.
“The way things are going now, he is going to cost someone a hell of a lot of money.”
Martinez has been named in the Argentina squad to face Paraguay, Uruguay and Peru in the upcoming international break.
Isolation rules mean the goalkeeper may be forced to miss Villa’s clash with Wolves on 16 October.
