That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after two annoucneemtns from the club.

On Friday (21 January) Villa announced Emiliano Martinez has signed a new five-year deal with the club.

24 hours earlier, the Villains also announced Kortney Hause has signed a new deal that will keep him at Villa Park until the summer of 2025.

Kenny has hailed this “unbelievable” show of faith from Gerrard.

“Gerrard is really putting his stamp on this team,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Villa is transformed under him and he looks like he’s enjoying himself there.

“Giving these contracts out is an unbelievable boost for these guys. ‘I mean, wow. It must be an amazing feeling to get that kind of boost.

“It’s clear that they are part of the project he wants to build there and it says their place in the team is secure.

“It’s great man management and it’s a real statement to the rest of the squad.

“If you play well, you will be rewarded. That’s a great policy to have.”
