Aston Villa are monitoring Bristol City defender Aden Flint, according to a report.
The Mail claim that the Midlands giants are eyeing the 27-year-old centre-back and that he could leave Ashton Gate in the summer.
It is understood that Steve Bruce’s side are joined by league rivals Fulham and Middlesbrough in being interested in the Championship
The report details that Bristol City are prepared to listen to offer for Flint and that he is valued in the region of £4million.
Flint is considered a crucial part of the Robins side and has racked up 200 appearances for them since his arrival in 2013.
The 6ft 5” Englishman has become renowned as a goalscoring defender and netted 29 goals in that tie.
He was an ever-present in the starting line-up last season and played 53 games across all competitions, which included playing every minute of their Championship season.
Football Insider verdict:
Villa could do with a new centre-back signing to partner James Chester to help them achieve their goal of promotion next season. Flint would be a superb addition by Steve Bruce and is a ready-made product who deserves a big-money move. He is an extremely reliable player and proved his qualities in the Championship last year. Flint is very strong in the air and also has good leadership qualities, something that should help him settle at Villa Park. Villa already have a squad that must be pushing for automatic promotion next year and Flint would be another important piece of the jigsaw.
