By Richard Parks
Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to drool over Jack Grealish’s cameo in their team’s 3-0 Championship win over Sunderland on Tuesday night.
The Villa academy product made his comeback after nearly a month on the sidelines due to injury as a 67th minute striker for substitute Scott Hogan.
The Midlands giants were already three goals ahead at that point through goals from Lewis Grabban, James Chester and a Bryan Oviedo own goal.
Villa fans were delighted to see midfielder Grealish back in action after what has been a truncated campaign for the fans favourite, who missed the first three months after undergoing kidney surgery.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Villa’s win over Chris Coleman’s relegation strugglers kept the home side in the hunt for automatic promotion on a night when rivals Cardiff City and Fulham also secured victories.
Bruce’s team are third in the Championship with 66 points, four adrift of second-placed Cardiff and seven behind leaders Wolves, who travel to Leeds United on Wednesday night.
In other Aston Villa news, it has been revealed that a Villa striker has cancelled his accommodation and walked out on Championship club.
