Aston Villa fans react after massive injury blow in win v Sheffield Wednesday
By Matt Farr
Aston Villa were dealt a major blow as both Henri Lansbury and Nathan Baker picked up injuries during the 2-o win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday – and a fans on Twitter were left cursing their luck.
The first team duo join an ever growing injury list at Villa Park that has already claimed no fewer than five first team scalps.
But Steve Bruce could now be without two more of his key players, after Lansbury and Baker both saw their afternoons against Sheffield Wednesday cut short.
Lansbury, 26, was forced to withdraw from the starting eleven as a result of a knock picked up during the pre-match warm-up, while Baker lasted just 25 minutes before being replaced by Alan Hutton.
Aston Villa fans on Twitter were less than happy after seeing their dreaded injury curse strike yet again, and will be urging Bruce to wrap his remaining stars in cotton wool ahead of the clash with Wigan in a weeks’ time.

Meanwhile, Alan Hutton and Gary Gardner had only just returned from the sidelines, but were rushed back into action in the absence of Lansbury and Baker against Sheffield Wednesday.
