Jordan Lyden made a successful goalscoring return for the Aston Villa under-23s during their 2-1 win against Wolves on Monday night – and fans on Twitter are delighted with his return.
The 21-year-old had been out of action for a period of four months and made his long awaited return for the youngsters during their Premier League 2 encounter.
Midfielder Lyden replaced 32-year-old Christopher Samba, who is currently on trial at the club, in the second half of the Midlands clash.

It was the home team that took the lead at Molineux when Donovan Wilson opened the scoring after the break via a counter attack.
But the introduction of Lyden on the hour mark changed the game with the Australian scoring within 14 minutes of coming onto the field.

He was in the thick of the action once again, this time he fouled in the penalty area four minutes before time with Rory Hale converting the spot kick and securing the points on the night.
Supporters were pleased to see Lyden make a comeback, especially considering the amount of time he has been out injured for.
A couple of fans stated that he may even get into Steve Bruce’s first team picture very soon, while others were hoping he has a strong end of season finish.

Lyden has played six matches for the club’s senior team, all of which were made during the club’s relegation last season.
At that time, Lyden started only one match and was utilised in midfield as well as a defensive option at right-back.
In other Aston Villa team news, the club have reportedly received a shattering blow with this senior ace ruled out for the rest of the season.
