Aston Villa are on course to seal a £3million deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury – and fans on Twitter have expressed their delight at the news.
The Guardian’s deputy editor Ed Aarons has claimed on his personal Twitter account that Villa are “expected” to sign the highly rated playmaker this month.

Supporters on social media were delighted with this news as they claimed Lansbury is the type of player they require in the middle of the park.
In 17 Championship games, for a struggling Forest side, he has scored six goals and supplied three assists – more than the entire Villa midfield put together.
Steve Bruce currently has Gary Gardner, Mile Jedinak, Ashley Westwood, Aaron Tshiobola and occasionally Leandro Bacuna as his midfield men.

One supporter stated that he would put Lansbury beside Jedinak and Tshibola in the middle of the park.
Fans agreed that if the former Arsenal academy graduate does put pen to paper then he would be an absolute bargain at £3 million.
Steve Bruce’s side are currently seven points off the play-off places as they aim to make an instant return to the Premier League.
Overall, the majority of supporters were pleased that Bruce was making a move for someone like Lansbury’s quality as they urged him to get rid of Westwood.
