Aston Villa fans have been less than supportive on social media after the club announced that centre-forward Ross McCormack had moved to Melbourne City on loan.
The club confirmed that the 31-year-old had departed Villa Park for a second loan spell subject to a medical.
Villa made the announcement on the club’s official Twitter account on Friday morning.

Fans instantly commented on the social media announcement, with a majority of supporters stating that he was a waste of money for the Championship club while a number of others joked about electric gates in Australia after the forward previously failed to show up to training because his gates were broken.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Hope Australian properties aren't built with Electric gates…

Should have got him fit and scoring goals. May as well have set fire to £12 million ????no doubt we're still paying his wages?

McCormack moved to Villa Park from Fulham last summer for a fee around £12 million, but failed to settle into the squad and nail a spot in the first team.
The former Scotland international was loaned out to Nottingham Forest from January to May and made just two appearances this season against Wigan and Middlesbrough in the League Cup.
In total, the centre-forward has made just 24 appearances in a Claret and Blue jersey since joining the club in 2016 where he scored three goals and one assist.
In other Aston Villa news, it has been confirmed that the Villains want to complete a January swoop for this top-flight 24-year-old.
