Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara- and fans were left surprised with Roberto Di Matteo’s latest transfer move.
Italian newspaper Tutto Sport claim that Villa have agreed personal terms with the 19-year-old after tabling a £14.5million bid for his services.
Supporters were full of praise for their manager, who they believe is beginning to mould a top squad for the Championship season.
Despite Diawara’s relative young age, some fans were delighted that they were winning the race for a talented youngster.
However, others did confess that they have not heard of his name before as Villa are prepared to break the Championship transfer record with his reported £14.5 million signing.
The Midlands club previously signed striker Ross McCormack for £12 million, with midfielder Mile Jedinak set to make a move within the next few days which has left fans beginning to believe again.
