Jordan Veretout has scores his first goal for loan side St. Etienne – and Aston Villa fans have given a mixed response on Twitter.
The 23-year-old slammed the ball home with a powerful striker from inside the area as St. Etienne beat Ligue 1 outfit Caen 2-0 away from home.
The former Nantes midfielder has made 11 appearances for the French side, after being allowed to leave Villa Park this summer following a hugely disappointing campaign last year that saw Villa succumb to relegation.
Veretout has been in fine form for his new side, losing just once in his 11 league and cup appearances as Les Verts sit in seventh place in the top tier of Ligue 1.
Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter as Veretout struck his ninth career goal, with some wanting him to return to Villa Park while some believe he needs to leave permanently.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

It remains to be seen whether Veretout will remain with the Midlands giants when his loan expires next summer, with Villa currently possessing an abundance of central midfielders.
The likes of Gary Gardner, Mile Jedinak, Ashley Westwood and Aaron Tshibola are all currently vying for a place in Steve Bruce’s side, while Colombian Carlos Sanchez is also out on loan.
In other Aston Villa news, has Bruce dropped a selection hint ahead of Villa’s clash against Birmingham?
