'We need him' - Aston Villa fans urge Bruce to start one player for upcoming clash v Preston
By Aramide Oladipo
Aston Villa fans have taken to social media to urge manager Steve Bruce to start youngster Keinan Davis in the upcoming league match against Preston North End on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old started on the substitutes bench as Villa played out a dull 0-0 draw against rivals Birmingham City in the Second City derby at St Andrew’s on Sunday afternoon.
The teenager replaced midfielder Conor Hourihane with 15 minutes remaining and he had Villa’s best chance to win the match but his powerful shot struck the crossbar and bounced clear.
The forward was very lively during his cameo appearance and he posed the Birmingham defence numerous problems in the latter stages of the game.
Villa fans posted their verdict on the youngster’s display on social media and they are desperate to see Davis in the starting lineup in the midweek match at Deepdale.

One thing is for certain. Keinan Davis needs to start. Held the ball up fantastically and his running wasn't bad either. We need him #avfc

When Jedinak and Davis came on we looked far better going forward. Terry and Chester played well. Bruce got what he deserved though. We were lucky Jota didn’t put that away. Start Davis on Wed. Kodjia not at the races atm. #avfc

Davis to start on Weds, Jedi is another 30minute man. Let’s not rush him. Do the business and let him come on and kill the game off #avfc

In the grand scheme of things, Preston is the bigger match, we really need 3 points on Wednesday. Davis + Jedi have to start. #AVFC

The striker has impressed with his performances for the first-team this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in all competitions.
The result means that Villa remain in sixth position in the league table with Derby County just one point below them in the race for the playoffs.
In other Aston Villa news, the club are reportedly interested in signing this Champions League winner.
