Aston Villa have “a hell of a player on their hands” in Jack Grealish, according to Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and Coventry City striker raved about the impact the playmaker is making in the Premier League for his boyhood club.
Grealish scored his second goal in consecutive Premier League matches, and his fourth of the season, as Villa secured a 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.
It was their second win in a row and provided further evidence of the special talent of skipper Grealish.
“He looks absolutely brilliant at the moment,” Whelan told Football Insider. “Him being on tip top form is just massive for Villa as he makes them tick.
“We have seen him going through the gears in recent weeks – his creativity and vision is second to none. The question mark over Jack has always been, can he score and supply enough goals?
“He is starting to answer that now and Villa have a hell of a player on their hands. He is an amazing talent, no doubt about that.
“When he plays well, Villa look a really exciting and strong side.”
Grealish has supplied three assists in addition to his four goals from 11 matches in all competitions this season.
He has now played 156 times for his boyhood club, scoring 19 goals and laying on a further 26 assists.
In other Aston Villa news, it can be REVEALED that the club have been told how much they will have to pay to sign top January target.
