‘Aston Villa make Jadon Sancho decision after Marcus Rashford twist’
Aston Villa are interested in signing Jadon Sancho as he edges closer to a move away from Man United, according to their former senior scout.
Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout at Man United for over a decade and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that the deal could face the same issues as Marcus Rashford’s permanent move.
This comes after former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Sancho is one of five players at United who will be moved on to balance the books.
However, he would need to take a “massive” pay cut to remain in the Premier League as Villa will not be willing to match what Man United are paying him.
Football Insider revealed Villa faced paying £130million over five years in wages and transfer fee if they signed Rashford at his £350,000-a-week salary.
Meanwhile, Chelsea were unable to reach a contract agreement with Sancho to make his loan spell permanent after disagreeing over his £300,000 weekly wage packet.

Aston Villa make Jadon Sancho decision after wage demands
Brown told Football Insider on 10 June that Sancho’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia as clubs in Europe will struggle to meet his wage demands.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that while the likes of Aston Villa are interested, he will have to slash his demands.
“Aston Villa are interested in Sancho,” he told Football Insider.
“But they won’t be able to do it if his wage demands don’t change.
“He boxed himself in at Chelsea and they decided they weren’t going to pay anywhere near what he was asking for, and it’ll be the same at Villa.
“He would have to take a massive hit if he was going to make that move.
“If he decides he doesn’t want to take that hit, you’ve got to ask who can afford what he wants.
“Aston Villa would be a very good move for him, but I think it’s unlikely to happen.
“They didn’t want to pay Rashford’s wages, so they aren’t going to pay Sancho’s.”

Emi Martinez update emerges at Man United
Players from both Villa and United have been frequently linked with moves between the two clubs this summer, with Emi Martinez the latest deal on the cards.
Brown told Football Insider that Man United want to sign Martinez if Andre Onana moves on, after he cast doubt over his future at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Martinez is ready to leave Aston Villa and has hired super-agent Jorge Mendes to help him secure a transfer.
It is expected that Mendes will use his strong connections at United to set up the move, but it will depend on the future of Onana.
