Aston Villa star Matty Cash responds to Barcelona’s Szczesny message

Aston Villa’s Matty Cash has responded to a message shared by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and Barcelona.

The former Arsenal man helped Barcelona win the La Liga title by maintaining eight clean sheets in 15 Spanish top-flight outings.

Barcelona sealed their 28th league title with a 2-0 victory over local rivals Espanyol on Thursday, 15 May, thanks to goals from Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez.

Marcus Rashford wants to join Barcelona

Rashford has enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Villa since joining on loan from fellow Premier League side Manchester United in January.

The England international fell out of favour with United boss Amorim, but since joining the West Midlands club, he has notched four goals and five assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Rashford’s efforts helped Unai Emery’s men reach both the Champions League quarter-finals and the FA Cup semi-finals, where Villa were ultimately beaten by PSG and Crystal Palace, respectively.

Although the Villa Park outfit were ultimately knocked out of the Champions League by finalists PSG on aggregate, they beat the French Ligue 1 champions 3-2 in the second leg on home soil.

Rashford played his part on that historic night, creating the assist for Ezri Konsa’s second-half goal, while Emery’s side retain the option to buy the Man United man.

However, ex-United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively informed Football Insider that the 27-year-old is keen on joining freshly crowned La Liga champions Barcelona.
