Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers responds to Youri Tielemans amid Arsenal links

England star Morgan Rogers responded to Aston Villa teammate Youri Tielemans’ message after Belgium beat Wales 4-3 on Monday.

Tielemans scored to hand Belgium a 2-0 lead after Romelu Lukaku’s opener, and Rudi Garcia’s men went on to hold a 3-0 halftime advantage on 9 June.

However, Craig Bellamy’s spirited Wales outfit turned around the three-goal deficit on 70 minutes through Brennan Johnson.

But Belgium went on to claim a vital three points in their World Cup qualifier when Tielemans assisted Kevin De Bruyne to seal a 4-3 win.

Aston Villa should look to retain Rogers

Unai Emery’s men failed to qualify for the Champions League thanks to a controversial final-day defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League on 25 May.

The West Midlands club’s PSR status has been negatively affected by the fact that they did not land a top-five spot in the top flight, meaning that Emery could be forced to sell some of his most talented assets this summer.

Rogers has attracted interest from Arsenal after an outstanding 2024/25 season in which he scored 14 goals and assisted 13 in 54 appearances across all competitions.

Aston Villa should do all they can to retain the services of the attacking midfielder who has proven himself as an outstanding talent since joining from Middlesbrough in 2024.

While Emery must sell some players this summer, his side would become significantly less dangerous in attack if he allows Rogers to join Arsenal.

Elsewhere, former club scout Bryan King exclusively told Villa News that Emery’s side could sell Amadou Onana this summer to relieve financial pressure.
