Remi Garde will be told of his dismissal when he meets with Aston Villa chairman Steve Hollis on Tuesday, according to reports.
The club’s hierarchy have already made the decision to axe Garde after the Frenchman’s failure to turn the team’s fortunes around.
Villa are rock-bottom of the Premier League table and heading for relegation after a run of six successive league defeats.
The club’s disastrous season has already claimed the heads of top figures such as sporting director Hendrik Almstadt and chief executive Tom Fox.
Both men were shown the exit door last week and the Birmingham Mail are reporting that Garde is set to be informed of his sacking on Tuesday by Hollis.
The Birmingham Mail also alleges that the club could make the announcement of Garde’s dismissal later in the day.
Garde replaced Tim Sherwood in November, but has managed to steer Villa to just two league wins in five months.
The latest defeat came against fellow relegation-battlers Swansea and it leaves Villa on 16 points with just seven matches left to play.
