Aston Villa plot sensational £200m signing spree on two conditions – Sources
Aston Villa could spend up to £200million on new signings this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the Villa owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawiris will sanction a huge spending spree if the club manage to secure qualification to the Champions League and midfield superstar Douglas Luiz forces a summer move.
They have total faith in manager Unai Emery and transfer chief Mochi to continue the incredible transformation of the team over the last 18 months.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that the club consider the Brazilian the most likely of their big names to be sold amid strong interest from the Premier League giants.
As revealed by Football Insider (28 February), Man City are stepping up their interest in Luiz ahead of the summer window, with Pep Guardiola a “huge fan” of the 25-year-old.

Premier League challengers Arsenal are also keen on the midfielder, who Villa value at around £100million.

Champions League qualification will be key for Villa securing a huge transfer kitty despite the club announcing £120million of losses in their newly-released accounts this week.
