Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers shares selfie with Cole Palmer ahead of proposed Chelsea move
Morgan Rogers has shared a selfie with Blues star Cole Palmer ahead of a potential move to Chelsea.
The Villa youngster had an impressive season in the Premier League, scoring eight goals and picking up 10 assists in his 37 appearances.
Unai Emery’s side missed out on Champions League football on the final day, with Rogers having a goal wrongly disallowed against Manchester United, on the way to defeat at Old Trafford.
Villa missed out on £200million as a result of the controversial refereeing decision, and are now struggling to meet the PSR regulations.

Villa to sacrifice Rogers
Aston Villa’s former CEO Keith Wyness exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Villa need to raise £150m-200m, to avoid a penalty for overspending.
Other clubs are aware of the situation the Villans find themselves in, and Rogers has already been linked with Chelsea, as well as Manchester City.
If the 22-year-old does make the move to Stamford Bridge, he will join up with international teammate Palmer, and the pair already seem as if they are getting along well.
Thomas Tuchel took his Three Lions squad to the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday (1 June), for some team building ahead of England’s clash with Andorra.
Rogers’ selfie with Palmer was posted on the official McLaren F1 account, with the caption: “Two (cold) guys watching on from our garage!”
Rogers ready for Chelsea move
Football Insider Verdict
Rogers came through the West Brom academy, before being bought by Man City in 2019, at the age of 17.
The midfielder had a number of loan spells while being contracted to the Citizens, as well as making appearances for the under-23s side, but never played a minute for the first team.
In 2023, Rogers moved to Middlesbrough and after a successful six-month spell on Teeside, including helping the club to a League Cup semi-final, he joined Aston Villa for a fee of around £8m.
Since his move to Villa Park, the former City man has gone from strength to strength, and his excellent club form earned him a maiden England call-up back in November.
There is no doubt that the 22-year-old is ready to shoulder the responsibility of being a Chelsea player, and if the move came to fruition, he would likely excel at Stamford Bridge.
