Aston Villa star told not to follow Jack Grealish to Man City – fans explode
Morgan Rogers has grown into perhaps the key man for Aston Villa under Unai Emery – and links with a potential Man City return will be distressing for fans of the Midlands giants.
The attacking midfielder, 22, left City to join Middlesbrough almost two years ago and is now a Champions League quarter-finalist and England international.
Rogers has notched 13 goals and 11 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions this term with Villa setting their sights on glory in Europe.
The ex-West Brom youngster is under contract at Villa Park until June 2030 after penning a long-term extension in November 2024.
‘Man City would love to sign Rogers’ this summer
According to a bombshell report from TEAMtalk (5 April), Man City have “serious hopes” of signing Rogers this summer – as Pep Guardiola “loves” the attacking midfielder.
It is claimed there is also interest in the England international from Liverpool and overseas clubs.

Rogers cost Aston Villa just £15million when he arrived at Emery’s side from Championship side Middlesbrough in January 2024.
He has played in a variety of roles this term – including in attacking midfield, centre-forward and on both flanks.

‘Man City would ruin Rogers – just like Grealish’
Aston Villa supporters have fired a massive warning to Rogers in the wake of the report – suggesting Guardiola would “ruin” the midfielder, just as they feel he did with Jack Grealish.
Grealish has won three Premier League titles with City but has been criticised for losing his flair since moving to the Etihad Stadium.
He cost £100million when he made the switch and one Villa fan claimed Rogers would cost Guardiola’s side £150million.
