Aston Villa are still working on “one or two new arrivals” before Tuesday’s 11.00pm deadline, according to a reliable journalist.
The Midlands giants have already brought in Henri Lansbury, James Bree, Birkir Bjarnason and Conor Hourihane in Steve Bruce’s first transfer window at the club.
However, the experienced manager is not stopping there and Birmingham Mail reporter Gregg Evans shared on his personal Twitter account that Villa were still working on more arrivals.
“AVFC still working on ‘one or two’ new arrivals,” wrote Evans before sharing they would be unavailable for Tuesday’s clash with Brentford.
#avfc still working on 'one or two' new arrivals. Too late for them to play at Brentford tomorrow. Needed to be registered by midday.

The news from Evans will excite fans greatly as they are keen for their club to return to the top flight as soon as possible following pre-season optimism.
Villa have been linked with a number of players this month, as they are clearly eager to bolster their squad and improve on their current 13th placing.
Two possible players Evans is talking about could be Jordan Rhodes and Neil Taylor from Middlesbrough and Swansea respectively.
ESPN correspondent Pete O’Rourke claimed on his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening that Villa had agreed a swap deal for Taylor and attacker Jordan Ayew.
Football Insider verdict:
It is clear by looking at the Aston Villa side that they are still in desperate need for a few more additions. The recent club’s poor form has no less been down to not having a guaranteed scoring striker in their side with Jonathan Kodjia flying out to the AFCON with the Ivory Coast. This means that if the Midlands giants are unable to bring a new frontman in then they best hope Kodjia doesn’t pick up an injury before the season’s finish. Rhodes certainly guarantees goals in the second tier and he should be a must buy before the midweek deadline if Bruce is still working on new arrivals.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, Steve Bruce has made an emphatic decision on this Villa attacker.
