Aston Villa suffer devastating Boubacar Kamara blow after ‘significant’ update – Sources
Aston Villa star Boubacar Kamara will miss the rest of the 2023-24 campaign after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old was forced off in the loss against Man United last week (11 February) and scans have now shown a tear to the ACL.
Kamara’s injury is just the latest in a string of devastating knee injuries at Aston Villa – with Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia already expected to miss the rest of this campaign.
Villa confirmed on Monday (12 February) that the midfielder had suffered a “significant” injury – but stopped short of confirming a full prognosis.
Kamara had recently been part of the senior France squad and could have been included in their side for the European Championships later this year.

But the ex-Marseille star will now face a long layoff alongside teammates Mings and Buendia, who suffered their respective injuries at the beginning of this term.
Kamara had made 30 appearances across all competitions for Villa this term – including 20 starts from a possible 24 in the Premier League.

He joined the Midlands giants on a free transfer in 2022 and has gone on to become a key part of Unai Emery’s side as they chase Champions League qualification.
Villa sit in fifth following the loss against Man United and are one point adrift of fourth-place Tottenham with 14 games left to play this term.
