Aston Villa star Jonathan Kodjia has been named in this week’s EFL Championship team of the week after scoring a match-winning brace against Blackburn.
A £15million summer signing from Championship rivals Bristol City, Kodjia was in fine form for Steve Bruce’s side on Saturday as Villa came from behind to win 2-1.
The 27-year-old was chosen alongside the likes of Derby’s Tom Ince, Leeds’ Luke Ayling and Newcastle’s Ciaran Clark after the side was posted on the EFL’s official Twitter account.

The Ivory Coast international has finally begun to develop some form with Bruce as manager, after scoring just one goal in 10 league and cup encounters under axed boss Roberto Di Matteo.
Villa’s number 26 has now scored five goals in as many games since Bruce’s appointment, as the Midlands giants fly up the table following a dismal start that saw them win once in 12 games.
Kodjia struck a second-half brace after Villa went behind to a well-timed header from Blackburn forward Sam Gallagher.
The former Angers striker scored from the spot after Jack Grealish was brought down in the penalty area, before Kodjia secured all three points with an inch-perfect finish after controlling a pass from Mile Jedinak.
In other Aston Villa news, this senior star is set to be absent after the international break.
