Aston Villa have put themselves in a fantastic position to complete the signing of AFC Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi this summer.
Unai Emery’s side have already made a “concrete move” for the Argentine, with reports in Italy appearing to suggest that the financial details of their offer have blown Juventus out of the water in the race for his signature.
The 28-year-old is also subject to interest from Borussia Dortmund, and they too have made a more financially appealing move than the Italian giants.
Senesi is set to leave Bournemouth as a free agent at the end of the season, and as a result, he looks set to be at the centre of a major transfer race between plenty of clubs.

The second city outfit are offering the defender a deal including “a very high salary and bonuses” according to Corriere Dello Sport, while Dortmund are also prepared to put a lucrative contract on the table.
However, while there potentially may not be much between those two offers in terms of the financial structure, Villa will surely be the clear favourites when it comes to the footballing side of things.
Both clubs are on course to play in the Champions League next season, but a switch to Villa Park would allow Senesi to remain in the Premier League, which is still widely regarded as the strongest and most lucrative domestic league in world football.
Throw in the fact that at Dortmund, he would face competition from stars like Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Sule, and the gametime on offer would also likely be greater at Villa Park.
