‘Aston Villa to lose Marcus Rashford after Lamine Yamal hint from Barcelona’
Aston Villa may be set to miss out on the permanent signing of Marcus Rashford after a cryptic message from Barcelona star Lamine Yamal.
Rashford wanted to join Barcelona in January, before his wages proved to be too big a stumbling block.
Instead, Rashford made a temporary switch to Aston Villa, where the England international has once again found the form that made him such a hot prospect in the earlier stages of his career.
However, even if the Midlands side do want to sign the 27-year-old permanently, Rashford’s wages could prove to be an issue again, given the Man United loanee is reportedly earning £315,000-a-week.
The Catalan giants are infamous for their Houdini-esque manoeuvring when it comes to finances, and it seems their star player, Yamal, has given a move for the English ace his vote of confidence.

Lamine Yamal backs move for Aston Villa ‘star’ Marcus Rashford
Following Villa’s win against Club Brugge (12 March), in which Rashford assisted Marco Asensio for the fourth time in his short career in the Midlands, the England international posted a series of photos on Instagram, captioned: “Qualified”.
Yamal, who himself was a part of the Barcelona team that progressed in the Champions League the day prior, thanks to a win against Benfica, commented three star emojis, and one “top” emoji with an arrow pointing upwards.
Understanding the language of emojis can be like trying to crack the Enigma code at times, but the Spanish international’s message was loud and clear, he holds Rashford in high regard.
Marcus Rashford to Barcelona is a match made in heaven
Whilst Rashford may be blossoming at Villa Park, he has the ability to be playing for Europe’s truly elite clubs.
Barcelona are emerging from a period of relative strife, but under Hansi Flick the Catalan giants are arguably playing their best football since Pep Guardiola‘s “tiki-taka” days.
The team are fast and direct, powered by the indomitable duo of Gavi and Pedri in midfield, whilst Robert Lewandoski, Raphinha and Yamal add star power up-front.
However, with the Polish striker set to be 37-years-old this summer, there is soon to be a gap in their front-line, begging for a talented dribbler, capable of producing magic from nothing, and who better, than Rashford?
